Electrical
Tamper‑Resistant Duplex Outlet with Built‑In Night Light — 4-Pack
Product description
Two-in-one function: these devices combine a standard duplex receptacle with a built-in LED night light, eliminating the need for plug-in lamps while leaving both sockets available for devices.
Safety and operation: each outlet uses a dusk-to-dawn ambient light sensor so the LED comes on automatically at low light and turns off when the room is bright. Internal spring-loaded, tamper-resistant shutters block foreign objects from being inserted for child and pet safety.
Light and placement: the LED sits behind the outlet face and casts a soft, downward glow that shows through the plug openings and gently illuminates the floor. That low, non-glaring light is intended for hallways, stairways, bathrooms, kitchens and family rooms where subtle guidance is preferred over bright illumination.
Materials and fit: units are molded from flame-resistant thermoplastic and designed to fit standard U.S. duplex outlet openings and standard 3‑wire electrical boxes. Terminations accept common wiring methods; these are intended for solid copper conductors and typical household wiring.
What’s included and support: the kit contains four tamper‑resistant duplex outlets, four matching wall plates, mounting screws and an installation manual. A 90‑day return window and a 12‑month limited warranty are provided. Professional installation is recommended if you are not comfortable working with live wiring.
Pros
- Keeps both receptacles usable while adding a night light
- Automatic dusk-to-dawn operation for hands-free use
- Tamper-resistant shutters improve child safety
Cons
- LED output is intentionally low — not for task lighting
- Some users report sensor or LED failures
- Top plug holes can glow, causing minor glare
VerdictA neat replacement for plug-in nightlights: preserves both receptacles, offers automatic dusk-to-dawn illumination and child-safe shutters. Best for low-level hallway or bathroom lighting; several users report long-lasting performance, though a few experienced sensor or LED issues.

Stopped working within a month
Worked well at first but the nightlight stopped functioning about a month after installation. Disappointing after removing the old outlets.

Far superior to plug-in nightlights
They give a calm glow that doesn’t disturb sleep but lets you see in the dark. Much cleaner look than plug-in lights. Easy to install — just shut off the circuit first.

Excellent discreet lighting
Love the modern, uncluttered look and that they don’t occupy a plug. Perfect for subtle hallway light — not intended for bright illumination. I’ve installed eight with no issues.

Solid build and helpful floor light
Good quality — not cheap. The LED lights the outlet holes too, which makes plugging things in at night easier. They stayed on in my hall unless the ceiling light was on. Fit perfectly and included everything I needed.

Reliable units but need support for one issue
I bought multiple sets and they’re effective, though one outlet in my latest set stopped lighting while still supplying power. Seller requested a full-set return, but I need help without uninstalling them.

Great for a theater room
Ideal for my finished basement theater — they turn on in the dark and stay off with the room lights. Not bright enough to disturb movies but enough to find the way to the bathroom.

Dimmed after three days
One unit dimmed within three days. I later discovered it was due to a wiring problem in my house; after fixing that the outlet works fine.

Direct replacement with good features
Sturdy construction and childproof covers. Wires can be pushed in or attached to screw terminals; screws are color-coded. Uses solid copper only. LED switches with ambient light as promised.

Sensor not sensitive enough
With the room light on, the LED does not turn off — the sensor isn’t sensitive enough to detect ambient brightness reliably.

Soft glow but a bit faint
Nice integrated nightlight, though quite dim for some uses. The top holes glow and create a bit of glare; an internal shield would improve the appearance.
