Performance and range
This digital instant-read thermometer returns an accurate temperature within ±1°F/±1°C in roughly 2–3 seconds. The measurement span covers -58°F to 572°F (-50°C to 300°C), so it handles everything from chilled liquids to hot oil and candy stages.
Construction and what's in the box
The outer shell is molded ABS plastic with a sealed housing rated IP67 for splash- and rinse-safe cleaning when the battery cover and display window are intact. The probe folds into the body for compact storage; a stainless-steel, pointed probe pierces meat easily and retracts for protection. A CR2032 battery comes preinstalled, so the thermometer is ready to use right away. The package includes the thermometer in its compact gift-ready box.
Display and controls
A large LCD with adjustable backlight makes numbers readable in all lighting conditions. Quick buttons let you toggle between °F and °C and perform simple calibration. The unit powers on when the probe is extended and turns off when it is folded, conserving battery life.
Storage and uses
A built-in magnet lets you attach the thermometer to metal surfaces for quick access while cooking. Solid-feeling red housing and a nice foldaway probe. The magnet allows fridge storage, and the sealed design can be rinsed if the battery cover and window are intact. I tested it with boiling water and it returned a precise reading.
