Reptile
Coconut-Fiber Reptile Carpet Mat — 2-Pack Terrarium Liner for Tortoise & Lizard
Product description
Made from natural coconut fiber, these mats offer a more solid surface than loose bark or soil and help reduce scattered substrate in enclosures.
They’re absorbent and non-abrasive, designed to be gentle on reptile skin and feet. The pads can be cut with scissors to match your tank’s shape and size.
Cleaning is simple — rinse with cold tap water to remove waste and refresh the surface. The dense fiber also helps limit odors compared with many loose substrates.
You get two mats in the package. Each mat measures approximately 19.7" L x 11.8" W x 0.4" H (50 x 30 x 1 cm).
Available in multiple colors to update the look of a terrarium and rotate when you’re washing one of the pieces.
Pros
- Made of natural coconut fiber
- Absorbent, non-abrasive and reusable
- Cut-to-fit for custom tank layouts
Cons
- Not fully waterproof — liquid can pass through
- May allow fluids to spread underneath without a barrier
- Can shed small particles if not handled carefully
VerdictA practical, natural substrate alternative that cuts down on loose debris and odors while giving reptile enclosures a tidy, washable surface. The coconut fiber pads are thick and non-abrasive, and they rinse clean for reuse. They’re not fully waterproof, so liquids can pass through and may require an underlayer for heavy wetting or urinary animals. Overall a good choice for owners wanting a reusab

Sturdy for multiple turtles
They do the job for my three adult box turtles. My only complaint is they love to crawl underneath them—keeps me amused.

Reusable and convenient
I like reusable options and these work great for my crested gecko, Stevie Nicks. They swap out easily and clean up with minimal effort.

Solid pick for pet habitats
Good value and color. The material is strong, doesn’t slip, and fits my tortoise’s enclosure nicely.

New liner was a hit
Replaced a damaged liner in my daughter’s cage. She loved the fresh look and the tortoise got a clean new carpet.

Better than expected for bark replacement
I switched part of the cage from orchid bark to this carpet. It’s thicker than I thought—almost half an inch after wetting—and I can remove and rinse it weekly.

Okay but watch for debris
It was fine, but I had to pull out bits of plastic before putting it in the tank because my tortoise tries to eat everything. It did develop mold in a week in a damp spot.

Leaks liquid underneath
Would be five stars if urine didn’t soak through. My tortoise’s pee passed under the mat and spread on the enclosure floor, so I added an absorbent layer beneath it.

Good bedding with folds
Decent bedding, but it ships folded rather than rolled. The creases can leave bumps even after trimming to fit.

Great product but some shedding
Everything is excellent except it wasn’t pressed quite right and small bits flake off from time to time.

No dust or odor
Excellent product. It doesn’t cause odors or create dust in the enclosure.
