Pop-Tech MagSafe CD-Slot Magnetic Car Phone Mount with 4mm Steel Plate
Product description
Built-in steel plate: The cradle features an upgraded 4mm-thick steel plate embedded inside the body for superior rigidity and long-term durability. Unlike thin plastic mounts, this internal metal layer prevents deformation and cracking under normal use. Note: this holder does not provide wireless charging.
Integrated silicone pads: Three eco-friendly silicone pads are molded into the mount so they remain fixed and won’t peel off with heat or wear. These pads cushion your phone and protect the car’s CD slot finish, unlike detachable rubber pieces that can fall away over time.
High-performance magnets: The unit uses NdFeB (neodymium) magnets rated N55, selected for thermal stability up to about 194°F and sustained magnetic strength in hot conditions. The magnetic assembly is engineered to secure devices up to roughly 8 lb (comparable to several large smartphones) and resist bumps and road vibration.
How it’s used and what's included: The mount inserts into a standard CD slot and is tightened with a screw mechanism to achieve a snug fit. The head rotates so you can position the phone in portrait or landscape. The package includes two thin metal rings for phones without native MagSafe; these rings must be attached to the outside of your phone case and cannot be placed between the phone and its case.
Pros
- Durable 4mm internal steel plate prevents warping
- Molded silicone pads protect phone and CD slot
- Powerful N55 magnets hold large phones securely
Cons
- No wireless charging capability
- Non-MagSafe phones need metal ring on outside of case
- Strong magnet can make one-handed removal harder
VerdictThis CD-slot phone mount prioritizes durability and grip. Its internal 4mm steel plate resists bending and breakage, while integrated silicone protects both phone and slot. Powerful N55 magnets hold large phones securely, and the head rotates for easy positioning. It won’t wirelessly charge devices, and non-MagSafe phones require a metal ring mounted on the case exterior. Overall a reliable choice

Holding power is great, removal can be fiddly
Phone stays put over bumps and rough roads. The magnet is so strong that pulling the phone off sometimes lifts the whole mount, which is annoying during quick stops.

Perfect for curved dashboards
My dashboard is very curved so other mounts never worked. I don't use the CD player, so this slot mount changed everything. Quick to set up and fits neatly.

Good performance, needed a slight tweak
It works well after I adjusted the insertion length; it was hanging a bit low and brushed buttons until I trimmed it. Otherwise solid.

Secure fit, very powerful magnet
The magnet is extremely strong and slides into my CD slot perfectly. I liked it enough to buy another for my second car. Highly recommended!

Much better than previous CD mounts
I swapped this in after a different brand kept sliding and wobbling. This one tightens via a screw and stays snug. No more bouncing on rough roads and rotation is smooth.

Strong but manageable magnet
Magnet strength is ideal, not overpowering. The bolt tightens easily inside the CD bay and positioning the phone is effortless. Feels well made.

Solid grip and simple setup
Installation was straightforward and the magnetic hold keeps my phone steady. The angle adjustments work well and it fit my slot without fuss.

Rock-solid, no rattles
This is the sturdiest CD-slot holder I’ve tried. No jiggle and it didn’t press any buttons like my old mount did. Very pleased.

Finally a magnet that holds
The magnetic grip actually keeps my phone from falling. You will need a functional CD player slot to install it, which my 2016 car has but some newer cars may not.

Best option for my Tiguan
No worries about the mount coming loose. I tested many and this one stayed put. I don’t use CDs anymore, so this has been ideal for my setup.

Works as expected so far
Exactly what I needed after upgrading to a larger phone. Only used it a day but it feels secure, compact, and the pivot lets me angle the screen easily.
