Microplane Home Series Fine Cheese Paddle Grater — Surgical Stainless Steel
Product description
Best uses: Designed for hard cheeses such as Parmesan, Asiago and Manchego, plus citrus zest, fresh chili, ginger and garlic. The fine blade creates a nearly powdered texture that incorporates smoothly into sauces, garnishes and batters.
Blades and construction: The cutting surface is made from surgical-quality stainless steel produced in the United States at the Microplane facility in Russellville, Arkansas. The ultra-sharp teeth are shaped to produce very fine shavings without tearing.
Included items: The grater ships with a protective storage sheath to keep the blade covered when not in use and to protect the cutting edge during storage.
Form and size: The paddle-style design provides a full-length grating surface with a handle for one-handed use. The slim profile stores flat in a drawer or cabinet, taking up minimal space while still offering a generous working surface for small to medium grating tasks.
Handle and finish: A soft-touch, non-slip handle offers a comfortable grip during extended use. The stainless components are naturally BPA-free and the unit is rated dishwasher-safe for simple cleanup; hand-washing is recommended when you want to be extra careful with the thin blade.
Care notes: Because the blade is very sharp and the paddle is thin, take care when scraping or tapping to remove the last bits of food—avoid striking hard surfaces to prevent stress at the handle connection.

Replacing a long-time favorite
I’d used my old one for years; my partner broke it so I bought another. Produces a very fine grate—great for Parmesan and zesting lemons. I’d buy it again.

Seven years of service
It finally snapped at the handle after seven years. Always felt slightly flimsy, but it handled cheese, garlic, ginger and even chocolate for a long time. Still worth the purchase.

Does the job — be careful
Very sharp and gives a superb fine result. Don’t bang it on the pot to free the last bits—I broke mine doing that. Ordering a replacement!

Lives up to the hype
America's Test Kitchen singled it out for a reason. It zested and grated far faster than my old tool—what took me ages before was done in under two minutes. Cleans easily and comes with a protective cover. Perfect for lemon and lime zest.

Microplane makes the best grater on the market. This is my third one; my earlier units still perform like new.
