GOOZEEZOO 8010 8-Band 400W End-Fed Half-Wave HF Antenna
Product description
Multiband, tuner-free capability: This end-fed half-wave antenna covers eight amateur bands—10 m, 12 m, 15 m, 17 m, 20 m, 30 m, 40 m and 80 m—using a built-in 1:64 impedance transformer. It is designed to present low SWR across the supported frequencies so many operators can use it without adding an external antenna tuner.
Power handling and transformer specifics: The assembly is rated for 400 W SSB, 300 W CW and 150 W modes like FT8. The impedance transformer uses a high-performance ferrite core sized 63 × 38 × 20 mm to deliver reliable impedance transformation and to tolerate high-power operation.
Passive cooling design: The transformer and circuitry are enclosed in a vented housing that promotes air-convection cooling—cool air is drawn in at the bottom and warm air exhausts at the top—helping to prevent heat build-up during extended transmit periods.
Deployment options and usage: The antenna supports horizontal, vertical or sloped orientations, making it suitable for backyard installations, portable activations (POTA/SOTA) or emergency field use. For best performance, allow about 45 m of overall space for the wire run and keep the radiator at least 3 m clear of dense foliage and about 5 m from large metal objects.
Construction and service life: The transformer is housed in a UV-resistant, waterproof ABS enclosure and paired with heavy-gauge antenna wire and insulators for outdoor durability. Expected service life under normal outdoor conditions is roughly 3–5 years; periodic inspections every six months are recommended to check hardware, connections and the wire.
What’s included: The package typically contains the end-fed antenna wire with end insulators, the 1:64 transformer/balun in its vented ABS housing, and basic mounting cord/hardware for securing the feed point and far end. Feed and mounting details let you connect the transformer to a coax feedline and deploy the wire in the desired configuration.
Pros
- Covers eight HF bands with low SWR
- High power rating (400W SSB) and sturdy transformer
- Versatile horizontal/vertical/sloped installation
Cons
- Requires substantial space for optimal deployment
- Limited guaranteed service life (3–5 years)
- Not tuned for 160 m operation
VerdictA robust, no-tuner-ready end-fed solution for hams needing a multiband wire antenna that handles significant power. The enclosed 1:64 transformer and heavy-gauge wire provide stable impedance and consistent low SWR across the supported bands. Its passive air-convection housing helps keep the balun cool during long transmissions, and the UV-resistant, waterproof enclosure and stout wire give it dur

Does what it claims
Surprised at how well it performs. SWR is good on the advertised bands. Running 100 W now and planning an amp — chose the larger balun. The balun case has vents to allow convection cooling.

Sturdy all-band HF performer
Seven months in service; held up to trees, snow, wind and rain. Made European contacts on 5 W using SSB and FT8. SWR remains good from 80–10 m; verified with a NanoVNA when new and now.

Field use — check SWR and trim
Measure SWR and trim the wire for lowest readings. I ran QRP and used it for emergency field exercises, making contacts across the US and into Europe.

Performs reliably
Has been working without problems.

Under evaluation
One week of use and a few contacts so far. Currently installed about 20' up; I plan to raise it above 35'. I'll update later, but initial results are promising.

Good first DX antenna
Well-built and holding its full length. From Washington state I've worked stations in Japan, Australia and throughout the US. Pretty satisfied so far.

Excellent value and dependable DX
I've run this for six months. Initially a 20' sloper and later routed low along a wooden fence to avoid kids, it still makes worldwide contacts. Worked well on an Icom IC-7000 and Yaesu FT-710. Tunes 80–10 with low SWR using an internal tuner; 6 m tuned near 1.7:1 and produced contacts. 160 m won't tune. It has survived snow, rain, wind and hail with no issues.

Consistent SWR readings
Nice SWR across bands; worst was about 1.42 on 10 m. Set up as a 40° sloper with the feed end about 10' high. 73, KJ5KMC.

Simple, effective and affordable
Started making global contacts immediately with this straightforward antenna. If you have the space, it's a solid choice.
