Lowrance Eagle 4X Fish Finder — 4" IPS Sonar with Bullet Transducer
Product description
The Eagle 4X package includes the 4-inch portrait display and a 200 kHz Bullet Skimmer transducer optimized for small craft. The display sits in a durable, marine-grade polymer housing with a sunlight-visible IPS panel designed to remain readable from wide viewing angles and while wearing polarized sunglasses.
Lowrance designed the unit for fuss-free sonar operation: Auto-Tuning Sonar adjusts settings automatically so you spend less time tweaking and more time fishing. The Bullet Skimmer transducer produces approximately a 44-degree beam angle that gives broad coverage under kayaks and other small vessels. A twist-lock connector secures the display for quick attachment and removal, and the compact portrait layout makes the unit suitable where dash space is limited.
This is a sonar-only fish finder. It shows fish icons and depth data and offers zoom for a closer look at the water column, but it does not provide DownScan Imaging, SideScan, built-in GPS, or mapping capabilities. The Eagle 4X is intended to be a simple, dependable tool for locating structure and fish on smaller boats and personal watercraft.
Pros
- Bright 4-inch IPS that's easy to view in sunlight
- Auto-Tuning Sonar for minimal setup
- Wide 44° beam from the Bullet Skimmer transducer
Cons
- No GPS, mapping, DownScan, or SideScan
- Screen is small for detailed views
- Basic feature set aimed at entry-level use
VerdictA straightforward, sonar-only unit built for anglers who want reliable bottom and fish detection without extra complexity. The Eagle 4X pairs a bright 4-inch IPS portrait screen with Auto-Tuning Sonar and a 200 kHz Bullet Skimmer transducer to cover a broad 44° cone below the boat. Installation is fast thanks to a twist-lock connector and compact form factor. Great for kayaks, jon boats, and begin

Easy install and user-friendly
Worked well on our pontoon. Installation was simple and the interface is much easier than my previous unit, which wouldn’t retain settings on the water.

Straight swap for older 4" unit
Replaced an older Lowrance Chirp 4 and the mounting and screw pattern matched perfectly. Used the same transducer bracket. Good, basic replacement—would buy again.

Small unit, finds structure and fish
Not a live-scope, but it locates brush piles and shows fish targets reliably. Very compact and simple to use, perfect for my little skiff. Depth and feature detection seem accurate; fish-size estimates are less certain. Excellent value if you just want a basic bottom and fish reader.

Unreliable depth readings for me
Depth readings were wildly inconsistent on the same spot, showing anything from a few feet to tens of feet. I found it very inaccurate on my lake.

Package arrived in great shape and everything works, but the seller said they would send warranty paperwork and I have not received it yet.
