605DAT Solid Brass Coupler Hitch Lock — 2" Body, 15/16" Shackle
Product description
This coupler latch lock is built to secure trailer hitches and includes the lock body plus a matching set of keys and the retaining pin assembly for attachment.
The exterior shell is cast from solid brass to resist rust and corrosion in outdoor conditions, while the shackle is made of case-hardened steel to stand up to cutting and sawing attempts. The lock’s cylinder uses a precision pin-tumbler mechanism to provide improved resistance to picking.
Key dimensions are provided for fit verification: the body measures about 2 inches across; the shackle is specified as 15/16" in length with a 7/16" inner width (an alternate listing references a roughly 3/4"/19 mm shackle). Intended for coupler latch applications, the lock slides into the coupler’s latch opening and secures the trailer to help prevent unauthorized towing.
The unit is designed for long-term outdoor use and comes with a limited lifetime warranty for added peace of mind.
Pros
- Solid brass body resists corrosion
- Precision pin-tumbler offers good pick resistance
- Sturdy shackle and 2" wide body for robust protection
Cons
- Shackle size won’t fit every coupler
- Relatively heavy for some users
- Occasional packaging or missing-item issues reported
VerdictA robust, low-maintenance coupler lock that defends a trailer hitch with a solid brass housing and a hardened steel shackle. The precision pin-tumbler cylinder improves pick resistance and the weather-treated finish holds up to outdoor exposure. Works well as a primary deterrent or paired with other devices, though its compact shackle won’t fit every coupler. Generally reliable and backed by a lon

Too narrow for our camper
Well-made unit but didn’t fit our camper’s coupler despite showing as a top match in searches. It does work on another trailer, so I’m still hunting for the correct size for the camper.

Benchmark in security
This brand sets the bar. Don’t skimp on a lock for an expensive trailer. The design exposes very little shank to be cut, and when paired with a coupler lock it’s a strong deterrent. A determined thief could get past anything, but this one will slow them down and draw attention.

Outstanding longevity
I replaced a previous one after nearly 18 years of heavy summer and winter use. Brass held up to road salt and freezing conditions with no corrosion or sticking. Highly recommend.

Missing lock in package
I’ve used these on many trailers and they last forever, but this shipment only contained the keys with cut ties—no lock. Had to arrange a return. Product itself is excellent when received intact.

Stout build, check the bumps
Feels solid — brass body, stout shackle (15/16" length x 7/16" inner width) and a 2" body width. Smooth key action and weather-resistant. After some rough washboard roads one came loose and was lost; could be design or my fault. The other still performs well.

Exactly what I needed
I lost the set pin on my old one. This replacement works flawlessly — never jammed or rusted. The new pin has a stop so it stays attached to the body; that fix makes it perfect.

Buen material pero más pequeño
Materiales de buena calidad, pero son más pequeños de lo que aparentan en la imagen.

Replacement did the job
Reemplacé el mismo modelo que dejé en el parachoques. Aparte de que no se quedan puestos cuando se conduce, funcionan muy bien.

Fits many hitches but not all
Good quality but the opening was too narrow for my trailer’s latch. I returned it and received a prompt refund from the seller.
