Persilux Cordless Solar Roller Shades — White, 5% Openness (20 in x 72 in)
Product description
Sizing guidance and mounting options: For an inside mount, use the exact window opening as the blind width and height (example: window 23 in wide x 72 in high = blind 23 in x 72 in). For an outside mount, add at least 4 in to both width and height (example: blind width = 23 in + 4 in; blind height = 72 in + 4 in). Be aware the actual fabric will be about 0.8 in less than the overall shade width. The top cassette measures 2.95 in deep.
Fabric characteristics: These Persilux solar shades are light-filtering fabrics designed to reduce UV exposure while preserving your daytime view outside. This listing is for the 5% openness fabric, which provides daytime visibility and glare reduction but does not guarantee night-time privacy. The material is treated for flame resistance.
Cordless, free-stop mechanism and hardware: The shade uses a spring-based free-stop lift so it can be raised or lowered and remain at any chosen position without cords — a safer option for homes with children or pets. The bottom rail is aluminum with a low-profile look and concealed screw design. A clear handle is attached to the hembar so you can operate the shade without touching the fabric.
Customization and order confirmation: When you choose a custom size option, the seller will request confirmation of the dimensions after your order is placed. Production and shipping begin once your measurement confirmation is received; if no reconfirmation is returned in a timely manner, the order will proceed using the details provided at checkout. The seller commits to resolving any manufacturing or fit issues that may arise.
Installation and care: Each roller shade ships with an accessory kit that contains metal mounting brackets, screws and an installation manual for straightforward setup. For upkeep, wipe with a dry cloth and use a low-heat iron if needed for minor wrinkles.
Pros
- Cordless free-stop lift for safer operation
- 5% openness gives daytime view and UV reduction
- Complete mounting kit and simple installation
Cons
- Not designed for nighttime privacy
- Fabric is ~0.8 in narrower than ordered width
- May be too translucent for heavy afternoon sun blocking
VerdictA practical, child-safe solar roller shade that balances daytime visibility with sun control. Accurate sizing, straightforward installation hardware, and a smooth cordless free-stop mechanism make it a solid choice for rooms where daytime view and UV protection matter. Not intended to provide full privacy after dark.

Good value though a bit sheer
Nice quality for the money, but it’s more translucent than I expected for blocking late-afternoon sun in my office.

Looks great, very affordable
I compared other options and these looked identical but cost a lot less. Chose white 5% openness — measurements were spot on. They admit light while cutting glare and heat.

Exactly what I expected
Five stars for appearance and smooth operation. They reduce harsh sun and lower the room temperature; you can see outside during the day but not easily see in. Measurements matched what I provided. My husband handled the assembly. I’d buy these again.

Perfect balance of privacy and view
Far better than custom roll screens I tried. Installed four in bay windows — they let me see outside while keeping daytime privacy. The free-stop is much more convenient than cords. Highly recommend.
