Klipsch R-12SW 12-inch Powered Subwoofer — 400W Digital Amplifier
Product description
The Klipsch R-12SW is a front-firing powered subwoofer built around a 12-inch copper-spun IMG (injection-molded graphite) woofer. The driver is paired with an all-digital amplifier rated to deliver up to 400 watts of dynamic power, intended to provide impactful bass for both movie soundtracks and music playback.
This subwoofer covers a frequency range of approximately 29 to 120 Hz, giving it the ability to reproduce low-frequency effects and musical bass lines. Controls on the rear panel include a variable low-pass crossover and a phase control so you can integrate the sub with your mains and tailor the response to your room. Both line-level and LFE inputs are provided for compatibility with most receivers and preamps.
The enclosure is finished in a brushed black polymer veneer and it sits on a satin-painted plinth for a refined appearance. The front-firing layout and cabinet design are intended to deliver punch and presence while allowing flexible placement along walls or near corners. With its combination of materials, controls and connections, the R-12SW is built to add authoritative low end to a variety of home audio setups.

Turned it on — windows shook
Hooked it up in minutes. At moderate levels the bass rattled windows across the room. No noticeable distortion even when pushed hard. Heavy, thumping output.

Replaced an old 12" — huge upgrade
Swapped out a decades-old 12" sub and this is a big improvement. Deep, clean bass and excellent overall quality.

Great value and look
Considering the price-performance, this is a good buy. Bass depth is satisfying, though in a larger 14-tatami room a bigger woofer might reach lower.

Scary, cinema-quality bass
I fell for the brand's look and the sound exceeded video demos. Two subs deliver cinema-level bass; I had to turn levels down at night to avoid disturbing neighbors. Very impressed overall.

Good low end but cabinet can vibrate
I use two to strengthen bass for my speakers and they work well, but the enclosures can flex and vibrate, shaking items on top. Finish and packaging were good, and the cabinets are imposing.

Party-ready bass — neighbor beware
The bass is brutal and the house shakes — perfect for hip-hop and techno. Very powerful Class D amp with low noise. It’s heavy and you should avoid sealing it right up against the wall or vibration will travel.

Perfect capstone for my Klipsch setup
This completed my Klipsch home theater. Initial sound was muddy because I left previous sub settings in place — after a few hours tweaking crossover and gain on my Denon it opened up. Now it’s powerful, present and performs well across levels.

Great performance but expect to tune it
This is not a plug-and-forget PC speaker. Placement along a wall or in a corner and taking time to adjust EQ/crossover makes a big difference. I run it alongside another Klipsch sub and they really move air together after some tweaking.

Huge cabinet, excellent sound
Paired with a Yamaha receiver and small front speakers—soundstage and bass are clear and impactful. Setup is straightforward. Note the unit is large, so measure your space; consider a higher-quality sub cable for best results.

Best sub for my home theater
Added this to supplement an older system. The 12" driver fills my 15×15×10 room nicely. My Denon and Audyssey did much of the setup, and the sub delivers fuller low end where the old system had gaps.
