141L Pine Shavings Chicken Bedding — Natural Coop & Brooder Litter
Product description
What’s included and material
This product is a 141L bag of 100% natural pine shavings intended for use in chicken coops, brooders and nest boxes. The shavings are pure pine with no added dyes, fragrances or chemical treatments. Packed compactly, the material expands to more than 2.5 times its compressed volume when spread out, giving extended coverage from each bag.
Safety and performance features
The shavings undergo triple screening and heat treatment to remove fines and reduce contaminants, achieving a 99% dust‑free rating that helps lower respiratory irritation risks. They are designed to absorb roughly three times their own weight in moisture, improving odor control and keeping the coop or brooder drier. The texture is soft enough for adult birds and many small animals, while initial unpacking can produce a small amount of loose dust that settles quickly with light raking.
Sustainability and disposal
Sourced from sustainably managed U.S. pine, these shavings are fully biodegradable and compostable, making them simple to dispose of responsibly. Used bedding can be composted to create nutrient-rich material for gardens, supporting environmentally mindful poultry care. The manufacturer stands behind the product with a satisfaction guarantee for buyers seeking a reliable natural bedding option.

Repeat buyer — works well for most uses
Good for nesting boxes and rabbits. I wouldn’t use the larger flakes with very tiny chicks — one chip snagged a baby’s wing and caused a small injury.

Chickens and guinea pigs approve
My chickens immediately returned to the coop after I switched back to this bedding. It arrives well packed, feels soft, controls odor, resists molding, and our guinea pigs enjoy it too.

Exactly what I expected. Convenient delivery and the shavings themselves are consistent and useful when I need a refill.

Will reorder
Plenty of material per bag and good quality. Soft with a pleasant pine scent. Slightly dusty at first, but overall a product my chicks seem to like.

Worked great for my spring chicks
This bedding kept odors down and my chicks appeared comfortable. A bit dusty when first spread, but that’s normal as they scratch it around.

Rescue bunny gives it thumbs up
My rescue rabbit hates paper bedding but settled right into these shavings. Cleaner smelling than paper after a couple days, less damp feeling, and he uses them for nesting.

Good material, found alternatives locally
The shavings performed well. I’d avoid very tiny chicks until their feet toughen a bit. I did find a comparable local option for less, but this worked fine.
